  • Katie White is largely responsible for the band's name. She came up with it while working with a Chinese colleague who told her that "ting" sounds like a Mandarin word for "band stand".
  • Katie White was in a teenage girl punk rock band called TKO (Total Knock Out)
  • Katie met Jules De Martino while his band was in Manchester. The two later formed a band with a DJ friend called "Dead Eskiimo". The band fell apart after about one year.
  • Katie thinks that she is becoming less "lady-like" as she has been on tour with her band mates.
  • White believes that the secret to the band's success is that their music attracts people of all ages
